There was a complication with the booking. Agoda used the wrong email address and didn't convey I had a 1 year old and 6 year old. However the receptionist accommodated our needs very quickly. We were initially placed away from the main house in a small double room, when I called to say no additional bed. They asked me to return to the main house, where they gave me a king-size bed, bathroom ensuite and got an additional bed. The hot water takes a few minutes to come through but there was a sign to advise this. The toilet brush was stained, but otherwise it was clean, tidy and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely. The staff were kind, helpful, polite and couldn't do enough. They advised fresh items to restock were on the way. The scrambled egg was cooked really well and there was a good range of items. For a last minute booking during Easter holidays it's good value and pleasant. It's not quite as pictured and there is no swimming pool, but ample free parking and in the summer nice grounds to walk. So I would stay here again.

I'd certainly recommend the location - it's beautiful. My only criticism is that we didn't receive the package that we'd booked for. When I initially placed the booking it said that breakfast was included (it wasn't), the check in and check out times were different and the room we were given was not at all as luxurious as the photo in the description

A fantastic first impression with good value for money. Looking closer at the details there are many ways this place could use improvement. Such as: 1) More parking available at the accommodation - especially diabsabled spaces. 2) Dimmable light and warm white bulbs instead of horrible cold white ones. 3) Plug socket at the bed for charging phones etc. 4) Fix the plumbing so it's not so loud when other people use water. 5) clean the splashed pain off the tiles in the bathrooms. 6) Repair the doors so they don't slam so loudly. 7) clean or replace the dirty stained lampshades.

Hotel is lovely, but could do with some maintenance and decorating, attention to detail is key. First impression when going up the driveway to the hotel was wow but that changed when we entered the room, from cobwebs around the ceiling to rust and chips around the bath taps and a toilet that did not flush properly, I can appreciate that it is an old hotel and they want to keep the character of the building, but more can be done. The sash windows were hard to open and had peeling paint, and when you open the window and look outside all of the guttering is just full of cigarette butts and dirty. Again attention to detail is key to make someone stay exceptional.

Lovely location, house and grounds. Stayed in the Manor, clean and functional room if just a little jaded. Staff were very helpful with just a little blip getting served on the evening in the Bar. A function was on and they appeared to get priority. Some lovely pubs serving fab food close by if you don't fancy Indian cuisine. Would go back.
