This is our third visit, it's very convenient for getting the ferry from Plymouth. It's very good value for money, location is excellent, the breakfast was fantastic. The beds were comfortable, bed linen and towels were of good quality and squeaky clean. The breakfast staff were very friendly and efficient. However I would say that whole building could do with updating, very old furniture and fittings. The path from the car park is very steep and slippery and would benefit from more lighting. All that being said we would stay again because it is good value for bed and breakfast and suits us for a one night stopover.

I was doing a training course close by and this was a perfect spot to stay. I had a double room with river view. The room was big, clean and comfortable. I had dinner in the restaurant and it was very pleasant. There was a nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend

The room was clean and comfortable. I was upset as I thought breakfast was a nine. A misunderstanding. I went down at nine and was told breakfast was finished. I had to ask for at least a coffee. The gentleman went and made me one. Thank you to him but I was offered nothing else. So I just thought oh well. But was starving. The night before they served no food neither did two of the three restaurants that were recommended.

Maybe the room was dodgy as think other guests were pretty happy but ‘Moorhen’ was noisy from the road, had a carpeted bathroom and a very noisy water pipe that sounded like a toilet was filling constantly - not great for a good night’s sleep! Breakfast was delicious and staff were great but room was underwhelming , which was a shame.

Welcomed by friendly staff, the room was clean and comfortable. Good breakfast, especially the fried bread!
