The Bear is well located being in the middle of Devizes. The Hotel is very traditional and has lots of quirky features. I was not taken with our room this time room 30. Although it had been refurbished it was pokey and in the eves, you had to be careful not to bang your head on the ceiling. You can see the one in the picture of the Hotel. Also there were a lot of stairs to negotiate to get up to the 3rd floor. Prior to this we have stayed on the 2nd floor which is better except for the tatty nets in one of the rooms were in. Really does need replacing! The dining room is looking a lot better since the refurbishment. Have taken down the dreadful curtains and repainted the leak marks on the ceiling. The Bar area is nice and traditional. Probably will stay again or go back to another Hotel in the Market place.

Big but still personal. Rooms are well equipped and very clean. Food was well cooked and served in a nice room. But the beer was out of this world and would encourage me back on its own. Staff supper nice and polite

Great location, good breakfast, good facilities (bar and restaurant) good transport links to other major towns/cities.

Another stay wrapped up for 2025 at the Bear staying over New Year this time. As ever, all staff exceptional especially the Breakfast Lady whos' name i always forget. Bar staff as ever attentive nothing too much trouble for them and the Bear is the perfect place to feel at home in. Thanks for looking after me see you in 2026

Stayed again in the Bear as was seeing Family. Another fantastic stay in this Hotel where staff are super friendly and go out of their way to ensure your stay is as nice as possible. Breakfast fantastic, Bar staff as always super helpful and drinks and food lovely. Not my first visit and first stayed here 40 yrs ago already looking to book again. Great place great location brilliant staff and breakfast to die for. Thanks and well done everyone
