에이펙스 그래스마켓 호텔

3 60+ ladies booked a family room with 2 queen sized beds for a 2 night stay. All staff we encountered were lovely, breakfast was delicious - overall excellent. Only minor niggle was that the room was set up for 2 (2 cups, 2 glasses etc) but quickly attended to after reporting to reception.

Fab hotel on the doorstep of the Old Town and Victoria Street. Near fab bars, pubs and restaurants. No tea, coffee and milk in our room upon arrival and felt a little interrogated having to prove this when we asked for some after a long drive upon arrival. Breakfast was lovely, great buffet selection of cereals, hot breakfasts and juices.

Whilst the room was spacious for a family room and the location great the cleanliness was not. Beds and pillows very uncomfortable all woke up with sore backs necks. Shower needs a refresh very yellow on tiles and rusty around the bottom of the door. Generally it was not a high standard of cleanliness and needs refreshing. Staff were lovely though and hotel facilities good. Brilliant location rather expensive for room standard but it’s a city so prices are high. Good view of the castle. I’d recommend for a night but notlong stay.

Central Edinburgh? Check Great surrounding bars and cafes? Check Great castle views from the bar and restaurant- Check However Tired and run down pool and changing rooms that smelt mouldy with lockers that don't work? - check Views of brutalist architecture from the cheap rooms - Check Only one lift working - Check Room that was like a sauna? Check We booked this as a couples escape for a weekend living 8 miles outside Edinburgh. It definitely doesn't reflect the best Edinburgh can offer by far.

The hotel is king of modern looking with good room amenities. Did not get to use the indoor pool. Onsite parking for 20 euros but convenient.
