No hot water, I had to request for towels because there was none. And I tried to get check in to be sooner after explaining that I just needed a place to sleep before my night shift they still refused.

We booked this hotel on the day of our stay and were delighted with the room we got. We appeared late but the staff were super friendly. It’s dog friendly too which is a huge bonus! Will be back!!

I didn’t get what I originally booked for but the room they put us in was across the road it was small room and a very small bathroom. It was in the middle of been refurbished we hoped as the bathroom door did not shut and the shower head was hanging out of the wall, the curtain’s was all so hanging off. But saying all that we would recommend the Royal as it does have thing in the area to keep your interested.

Friendly basic place to stay good value for money breakfast continental good variety

This is hands down the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The hotel (if you can call it that) is located next to a pool / snooker bar and has its reception / breakfast room located at the bathrooms of the bar, resulting in a constant flow of drunk and somewhat disorderly people throughout the area. The pictures of the hotel look nothing like the actual hotel itself, the rooms are cramped, incredibly dirty and mouldy throughout. We felt as if it was impossible to get clean even, though we had a shower in the room. The mattress was horrible and you could feel every single spring when lying down. During our stay we heard multiple people argue and shout at each other in the hallway throughout the night, as well as a guy calling on speaker phone right outside our door at 2:30 in the night. The next morning our room oozed in cigarette stench and from the smell and cigarette ashes it was apparent that someone had been smoking heavily in the hallway of the hotel. The only upside was the guy at the reception being friendly and helpful. However considering the price I can only recommend spending a bit more and getting a room where you actually feel you’re going to wake up in the morning. We checked out a night early and went somewhere else after a night of barely any sleep.
