Stayed two nights at The Bull. Great little authentic pub, staff lovely. Room No1 was a good size , bed linen really soft . No hairdryer but luckily I’d brought my own.( I’m sure if asked one would have been provided) The corners and edges of the room need to been cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. Bathroom really needs attention. Ceiling needs cleaning and painting. The shower attachment needs replacing as does the shower curtain with a proper door. The tiles in the bathroom need cleaning with domestic to removed the black grout . Aside from all above, we enjoyed our break, beer and wine served was good and a reasonable price.

Found the hotel easily. Checked in without any problems. Room was great for the price I paid. Communal area (staircases) were dated and drab and creaky. Rhe room was lovely and set out well. The pub below was nice although they didn't tell me in check in that food was not being served that night. I didn't actually end up staying overnight due to having to pick up a distressed dog post op and take it home. The staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend if need to stay in Shrewsbury again. Nicely central to all visitor attractions and interests. Staff pleasant and friendly. However, we were advised on arrival (Sat) of a band playing that night 9-11pm. We didn't expect, or have prior knowledge of entertainment. The band struck up precisely 9pm, but the unwanted 'thrub' of the bass guitar could still be sensed until c.11.45pm. For this reason alone sadly they're be no return visit. But do adjust the door closer on the fire door (of all things, to the on-site) as it required some effort to open the door. Sorry, but I have been objective :-)

I loved it! I was downgraded to room 2, which was the best decision , because room 1 has no external windows! I can understand all the 'noise' issues made, but on a Monday in early February there was not a single customer in the bar after 10.30pm. .... If you are able to climb stairs?, get the room furthest from the ground floor bar no negate customer noise.

Older worlde pub, good food ) but not served late), nice room overlooking the cobbled street, but don't stay on a Thursday night as the refuse collection comes REALLY early!! Around 4.30/5! And oh my goodness, dragging the corporate size bins up and then the cobbles makes a racket! They the restaurants opposite start turning up and do more often less rte same just as you've got off to sleep again! Hopefully any other day wouldn't be do bad! The mattress could go with changing as it was lumpy. There were some questionable customers coming and going, but the bar lady deadliy with them well! If you're solo, it's VERY quiet around the little street late at night.
