The Waterfront

Excellent location and price for a short stay. Warm and dry and cooking facilities if needed. Nice view of the Clyde from the window ! John was really helpful !

I'm up in Greenock quite often visiting friends and family but due to my usual hotels being more expensive than usual decided to give the Waterfront a go. I'd read all the reviews (and loved some of the management responses!) thus knew what to expect, but frankly - for the price they charge, which seems pretty fixed - my expectations were genuinely exceeded. No, it's not the Hilton, but my room was clean, comfortable and secure. The bedding was nice, there was tea and coffee available and the staff on duty were lovely, even waiting back a bit for me to arrive after my train was delayed. The rooms are clearly former student accommodation but perfectly adequate, and the location was great. My only complaint, if there has to be one, and contrary to many other reviews, is that the shower water was too hot, but it soon cooled down. For the price the Waterfront is great and I'd happily stay here again.

Basic rooms but everything you need for a short stay, a kitchen is available should you require to cook, quiet location next to the sea, very quiet and ample free parking, plenty of supermarkets close by
