The Full Moon Backpackers

Lovely place, with some nice pubs and food trucks just downstairs (yes, its quite loudly). Loved the music each time btw. I took a woman only shared bedroom, but once i took my first shower, i had the akward surprise to discover that the showers and toilets are mixed. Me and my tiney towel where quite embarrassed when two men entered to take their shower too. Why not letting the first floor showers for men, the second for women and the last one mixed by example ? The cleaning service is very very good. Everthing is nicely cleaned, and that everyday !! Be carefull : they accept no cash, wich is such a shame for this beautiful international place. To resume, it's an artistic place in an artistic city, and if u are ok to share the showers and the toilets with men and women, then go for it:)

Urine stained duvet, make own bed & strip it, banging around in dark stripping it with others trying to sleep. Everything creaked loudly, the bed all the doors, the floors (old building that’s understandable) maybe bit of oil on door hinges & look at the bed, just a suggestion so all guests don’t get disturbed as coming in & out & different times. Shower was well cold in morning which I ran for ages, went up stairs to another shower room which weren’t quite as cold after running for an age. 2nd shower eventually got warm as I was getting out. Bonus point, Staff were very pleasant & helpful.

The rooms are tidy and have nice art running through them. Great seating area with the kitchen.

Wonderful stay, staff were very friendly and showed you around. The building is 500 years old so only stairs and you need to follow the signs posted or it's easy to go the wrong direction. Easy to find and close to Castle Park and the water for a nice walk.

Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the price is very good for the facilities. However, there is a sports bar connected to the hostel and if there's a football game going on, God save your ears.
