I can imagine how beautiful it must be in the summertime. Hotel is very nice, staff is friendly. I checked in on a Sunday of the family vacation long weekend so the check in wasn't the smoothest, I tried to check in around 1ish knowing that my room might not be ready, they said they'd call me to let me know. By 2:45 I still hadn't heard back so I tried to check in again and my room still wasn't ready They gave me a $20 voucher for the bar and they would come get me when it was ready. By 3:30 I made my way back to the front desk and it was all new staff. My room was ready but no one told me. No towels in the pool area the first morning. Aside from those minor inconveniences, I would definitely recommend this Hotel.

We wanted to give our two teenage grandchildren a nice 2 day holiday in Kingston. I chose this hotel because it is on the waterfront and promised a great experience even though it was quite expensive.. Unfortunately things did not turn out well. The first issue is parking. It is extra cost ($40 per day) on top of the already hefty room rate. The parking lot is an irregular design, part of it with very low ceilings (6 ft). It was fatal on the opening of my hatchback power trunk lid. Additionally the parking spots are extremely tight with many obstructions (concrete pillars). Although I was extremely careful, I still managed to scrape my lower front fender. This really has to be the parking lot from hell! The next issue is the room size. When I reserved, I specified two Queen beds and that the room should accommodate four people. The room we got was hardly large enough for two people. The closet and storage spaces were so tiny. The room and bathroom design reminded me of the budget motel rooms you would see in the 80’s. This room size does not justify anything but the lowest value for money rating for this hotel. The next issue is safety and security. First there was no room safe! Second there were no grab bars in the bath/shower unit; a serious safety issue especially for older clients. Another issue is the bathroom design which appeared dated by today’s standards. Places to hang towels were minimal, which makes a joke of the sign to help save the environment by hanging up the towels you wish to reuse. The hooks provided beside the shower and the back of the door were useless, as towels and dressing gowns slipped off easily. The toilet was an antique water guzzler of the type common in the 80’s and 90’s. On the positive side the water pressure was excellent and the water temperature was hot. And the sink stopper worked, unlike in a lot of hotels where I have stayed recently. When the four of us first arrived at our room, we immediately noticed there were not enough towels and glasses for four persons. We tried calling housekeeping but gave up after waiting on hold for many minutes. Then we called the front desk to also be placed on hold right away; however we finally got through after several minutes. Towels and glasses were delivered in about 30 minutes. Unfortunately the same shortage occurred the next day and we had to request them again. It appears that communications are not prioritized within and between departments at this hotel. On the day after first checkin we all left our room at about 11:00am. We noticed the housekeeping staff right next door as we left so assumed our room would be made up promptly. We returned at about 2:00pm and to our dismay the room had not been touched. We left to go out again and returned at about 4:00pm; this time the room was serviced but we immediately noticed that we did not have sufficient towels and glasses for our four room occupants. Prospective travellers should note that the hefty price of the room does not include breakfast other than DIY coffee in the room (for two persons!). My bottom line: I will never stay at this hotel again. The value for money and decent service are not there. The security and safety issues were glaring! My recommendation: do not stay at this hotel.

Exceptional Stay! Amazing staff from the minute you arrive and through out the stay! Hotel is beautiful with spectacular views of water from every well appointed room! Welcoming lobby bar and wonderful ambience and views on their restaurant that serves excellent food! Can’t wait for our next visit as the hotel also has a perfect location to downtown Kingston!
