My friend and I stayed here for one night. There was a great view from our room of the castle behind the inn. We were able to easily find parking on a Saturday evening. The bed was incredibly comfortable (I prefer a softer mattress rather than a super firm one). My friend and I slept in the king bed and it was spacious enough that neither of us were disturbed if one of us got up during the night. The room itself was quite large and it included a couch and 2 large chairs for lounging. The neighborhood was rather quiet despite being in front of a tourist attraction (the castle). The only quirk was that the toilet was in a separate room from the bathroom sink and shower, but I assume that was because it was an older building and that's how the plumbing worked out. I would absolutely stay here again in the future.

Had a great single night at the Craigmyle Inn. I was honestly sad that I had a super early appointment the following morning that I had to leave quite early. But overall, it was quaint, quiet, chill and adorable. I nice reprieve from the downtown core.

This is a beautiful building in an historic part of the city. Everything is clean and tidy with lovely furnishings. The people running the place were very friendly and helpful when they were there, but here is the problem: the place appears to be only staffed for limited periods. Covid apparently stopped breakfast and we were told we could use the cups and crockery. Fine, but there were insufficient and we ended up having to wash up some to make do. Also, again presumably because of Covid, the room was not made up during our two night stay. These things simply won’t do when the rest of the offer is of high quality. Time to rethink staff provision?
