We booked this inn expecting something fairly ordinary given the very reasonable room rate — how wrong we were. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that real thought had gone into the guest experience, with a string of small but meaningful touches that set it apart. The room itself delivered where it counts: a genuinely comfortable bed and a great shower. But it was the extras that made us feel truly looked after — a hot water bottle waiting for us, quality bathroom toiletries including sanitary products (so often overlooked), fresh milk, and proper filter coffee. The food was a highlight too. Rather than the standard pub fare you might expect, the food was tasty and imaginative — and where else would you find turmeric and ginger shots on the table to start your morning? Exceptional value, and a place we’d return to without hesitation.

Greeted with fresh milk and warm cookies for room. Comfy bed, quality cotton linens and towels. Room very clean, shower over bath worked well. Good meal in lovely bistro.
