A warm welcime from the excellent staff of an establishment full of charm and character. Highly recommend.

Stayed here for a night while in the area to see friends. Staff were friendly and welcoming and room very clean with an extremely comfortable bed. Enjoyed a beer in the garden at the back. Breakfast was good quality and plenty of it. Music from the bar was loud and went on quite late but it was a Saturday night and expected. It certainly wouldn't stop us from ever staying again but it's just something to be aware of.

We booked two double rooms as we had three adults and a four year old. Our little one had fun trying to play on the equipment in the garden. Beds were so soft and comfy second best we have had in over 10 weeks of travelling. Being main road and a working pub we were expecting a bit of noise. But staff especially food was great and convenient place to come back to after visiting Stonehenge. Owners were really great hosts and young waitresses and bar workers were helpful.

I so enjoyed my stay at The George Inn... A warm welcome, very comfortable bedroom, immaculate bathroom and then a delicious dinner and the following morning a breakfast that kept me going all day! I'll certainly return there and already looking forward to it.

Stayed at the George Inn, despite the fact I had read a review to beware of bedbugs. Got to my hotel room… used bedsheet, unironed, unclean,plus one pubic hair, toilet paper in the toilet that had been used ugh and not flushed which also told me toilet had not been cleaned. I was disgusted. Flipped over the entire duvet to find evidence of bedbugs. Requested a move to another room. Staff were lovely. Moved to a room that sounded like I was in an airline hangar. I started to get a headache so I ordered dinner in case that helped. Staff forgot. Coming up to an hour later, I was stressed by noise and hunger. They said the noise would shut off after 9pm when the kitchen closed. Once I realise they’dforgotten my food, and realised how much of a headache I had, I asked for another room. They tried to charge me for the food - at this stage I was supposed to have been asleep because I had a certification to complete before the next day. So I would’ve expected a complete room refund. I got a food refund and was moved to another room which was fine (dead fly near the bed). The manager was wonderful; the other staff a bit clueless. Hate putting bad reviews when staff are kind, calm, and accommodating but somebody needs to hire a cleaner in that hotel, get rid of bedbugs, and understand that most people wouldn’t be able to tolerate the noise in one of the bedrooms.
