This beautiful 15th century pub has charming features and wonderful staff. The rooms are very basic. Crisp clean sheets. Tea and coffee facilities and a shower in the bath. Don't expect anything more than 700 year old room. The breakfast was a full English with very good quality sausages. Cater for vegans too. The atmosphere in the bar in the evening was lively and friendly.

Maybe my expectations were too high but I was a bit shocked when I was shown to Room 2. After a week there I had got used to it but I do feel it could have done with a refit and a deep clean. The shower unit was tiny and although the water was nice and hot the shower head was very inefficient and small. I didn’t feel very comfortable that the shower curtain kept sticking to me as it presumably had done to former guests. The soap dish was broken and although an alternative loo holder was provided the original defunct one was still on the wall. The linen however was good and replaced regularly. Take your own pillow and house shoes so you don’t have to walk on the somewhat sticky carpet. Staying at the Bent arms suited my purpose and it maybe that I’ll end up there again but I didn’t love it

Wonderful old building with quirks as you would expect. Food is very good and served by very pleasant staff. Breakfast was deliciously cooked to order. I will probably be there same time next year!

Food excellent and sensibly priced. Room clean and comfortable for the price. Location good for local sites and Gatwick Airport. Would recommend.

The room facilities were basic but in line with the charge for the room. However, the food was amazing We had an evening meal, breakfast and attended a function and the food was excellent at all these. In regards to the staff, they were all exceptional, friendly, polite, efficient and always with a smile. A very good break. We will definitely be back.
