This was my second year staying here once again proving to be the perfect location for the tough 36k Dirty Rotten Scramble trail run at nearby Hole Park, the room was quite and the bed comfortable for an important good nights sleep and the breakfast was plentiful enough though I did eat mine for supper as opposed to pre race, I was please that the wifi was in good working order this year after not being able to access it this year, the only slight problem was the plug was stuck in the sink in my bathroom which obviously needs mending

Stayed with my eldest daughter, we lived in the area over 30 years ago. Very pleasant, quiet location. Excellent pub. Negative.. no check in details Only cereal the first day, however when enquired at the bar, a box containing 2 long life croissants, 2 butter, 2 jam, 2 yogurts, one pint of fresh milk.... Second day nothing . So had to call the pub, they bought 2 pots of mini cereal, 2 cereal bowls ( crack down the centre of both) two long life croissants, 2 packs butter, 2 yogurt . . the bed wasn't made up during our second day, plates & cereal bowls & cups not washed up. It's sad that, in my opinion, the breakfast was such a disappointment, no staff seemed responsible for the 5 lodges . The accomodation was good, however the cushions on the sofa bed were stained

The lodge was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We didn't interact with the owners or managers, as the door is code based and you can park just in front of the lodge (very practical). We appreciated the breakfast but again felt it a bit impersonal: individual cereal box, Tupperware with individual cheese slices etc. Nothing wrong, but we ate outside at a picknick table. We didn't appreciate the thin noise isolation of the other lodges or the local motorcycle club coming to the pub 20 meters away from our door.
