Great location, nice old fashioned pub, clean and tidy rooms, plenty of Tea & Coffee, very accessible for Buxton, Bakewell, Monsal Trail, Mam Tor etc. Serves good food too, breakfast and evening meal was very tasty!

Great couple of days. The pub tries very hard with entertainment on both fri and sat night. Nice breakfast.

Room was great with a four post bed and separate sitting area and kitchenette. The decor had been tastefully done. The location is great in a quiet village near some amazing walks. Easy to park. The slight downsides were the noise that could be heard from other rooms (this is an old character building) and the fact the place needs a little love (shower rail broken, some damp round the rear window, a fresh pick of paint in the bathroom). Overall, a good experience and I would go back.

Was very pleased with this stay. A busy pub but you could hardly hear the noise from your room. Very comfortable bed and very clean. Stayed in the pub for dinner which was well presented and delicious! My only slight issue was it wasn’t mentioned on the website that breakfast was not included in the price - but it’s a minor detail. I paid for breakfast and was well looked after by the chef. All local produce and beautifully cooked .

There was no wifi in our room (room 6). The TV remote didnt work either. I spoke to 2 different staff, and also contacted by message, and we just got different excuses as to why its not working. One staff said it should work, no wifi booster may not be set up, the booster was never purchased, or that they need to get the landlord to check (who never did). but they would not go to check it. Then we found another review from 10 months and they had the exact same issue as us. The staff obviously knew there was no wifi, which we really needed for our work and baby monitor, but they just did not care.
