The Town Hotel

According to the hotelier, his hotel is regularly fully booked at the weekend by revellers making use of the rooms as an extension of the rowdy bars and pubs along the adjacent street. The howling and drunken screaming which rolled up and down the street, occasionally spilling into the rooms of the hotel made it impossible to sleep until 5AM Saturday morning. Alcohol abuse at its worst. If you are looking for a wild and sleepless night surrounded by Gen Z behaving badly, book a room facing the street. The proprietor was very kind and apologetic the following morning regarding the clientele which clearly make up a reasonable amount of his monthly repeat business. Why else would he suffer the madness?

We were made to feel very welcome and the room was clean and fairly newly refurbished. En-suite great but low ceiling can catch you out. Bed comfy, tea and coffee making facilities Good, no meals but plenty of eating places around with a weatherspoons not far away. On street parking free on Sunday and car parks nearby. All in all a very nice stay.

A basic room no frills but clean, a warm welcome awaits. The only snag was the over hot shower, with no cold going to it it was dangerous, as the hot is very hot...
