Wow what a different type of B&B. Totally Victorian even down to the plumbing and crockery/cutlery. Lots of very interesting ornaments, iconography etc. Very full some and tasty breakfast too

Unique and very interesting

Wow what a different type of B&B. Totally Victorian even down to the plumbing and crockery/cutlery. Lots of very interesting ornaments, iconography etc. Very full some and tasty breakfast too

What a wonderful place!

Just like the photos. A museum could not better this experience. Restored lovingly by the owners and so different to the norm. Everywhere you look there is a piece of history. We will return one day.

St Benedicts

A facinating place to stay. One could spend a whole day studying the Icons and museum pieces in this amazing place. The room is spacious and has a dressing room attached. The four poster bed is extremely comfortable. The mattress is so deep that I needed steps to get in it. Breakfast was excellent and available at a time to suit us. Fresh milk was provided an hour before breakfast for the tea in our room. The room was a little cold but it was -1deg c outside. The shower soon warmed me up. For a different experience this place is a must to visit.

Wow! This is a totally unique place

What an amazing eclectic place! Like stepping back in time it was quite amazing. Great nights sleep and fabulous breakfast..Will definitely be back

Paul was really wonderful, breakfast was lovely, the place was quiet, the beds were very comfortable, the pillows excellent. The garden was beautiful. Why the low rating? The place felt like a dusty Addams Family firetrap in need of a good scrubbing, vacuuming and dusting. No postings anywhere about fire emergency. (Smoke detectors? Not sure. Yes, fire extinguisher on each floor). Soooo much Victorian stuff everywhere there was hardly any surface anywhere to use for your things. If you want an unforgettable experience like nowhere else you'll ever stay, check this out! Truly unique.
