The room exceeded expectations. Fantastic comfortable bed, super soft feather pillows and tasteful decor. Very quiet. Great bathroom and spotless. I have stayed in many hotels with my job over the years and every room always has some irritating faults but have to say this was the best by far with absolutely no issues. That said the breakfast was dire. Went in at 9.20( 10 am close) Buffet style. First no hot water in the dispenser for tea. On explaining it was topped up. Next no milk in the nearby vacuum jug. Again topped up. Wooden stirers for the tea,no visibly available teaspoons. Opened the lid of the hot food. Only 1 rasher of bacon. " On it's way" said a disinterested staff member. Took the tea and wooden stir sticks to our table and waited a few minutes then went back for the topped up bacon. Put the meal together on cold plates and reached the toaster. Only 1 slice of bread. Again a wait so went for juice. That was empty and had to ask for that to be topped. Eventually got the meal to the table,no condiments on the table but by that time ,I' d lost the will. The whole breakfast was cool at best ,cold would be a better description. Even the topped up bacon was crisp but over dry and cold.At no time was a staff member proactive. Everything had to be pointed out to them. Extremely dissapointing. Lovely room so would stay again but definately on a room only basis

All ok with hotel food facilities and clean. We were unfortunate to have a couple down the corridor having a domestic argument that went on into the early hours. The hotel should have responded to this and had warned the guest it's not acceptable and asked them to leave if they couldn't behave like decent adults.

We have stayed at the Tytherington many times, and love it. Unfortunately, although in a Suoerior Room, and large … it had two outside walls and was freezing! The heated towel rail was off too and on underfloor heating. To be fair, when we mentioned it, they put a portable heater in the room, and that did the job! We ordered breakfast in the room, and, while preserves were included on the slip if you ordered toast, none turned up. The lady promptly brought some more up, and was very pleasant. But, when we spoke to the receptionist later, the duty manager had blamed us for not ticking ‘preserves” on the order. This left a nasty taste as, as anyone who had stayed there would know, it’s included and doesn’t need ticking. Petty comment, but annoying, given the heating issues. NB this is the first bad experience we have had in 5 stays, so please read it as it is intended to resonate; not as advice not to stay!

Very clean hotel, all very modern and up to date. Spa facilities were really good but hot tub was closed on visit.

Booked here for work purposes and was pleasantly surpised by the facilities, price and also onsite parking for the car. Will be back again in future!
