Nice room and value for money

One night stay after walking section of Leeds Liverpool canal. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Had meal in restaurant area which was very nice and reasonably priced . Breakfast was very good. Located near to railway station as name suggests and only a short walk walking to centre of town . Will definitely return.

I discovered the Railway whilst planning a drive from Edinburgh to Worcester. I needed to stop somewhere for the night and I was impressed by the other positive reviews for their accommodation. You’ll often see reviews concerning the dining options of inns but rarely the accommodation but there seemed to be just as many reviews (positive ones!) for that as for food and drink. I was not disappointed! The room was clean, well appointed and up-to-date. The en-suite bathroom while small was well laid out, clean and well lit. I’m not the best sleeper even at home but the bed was comfortable and outside noise diminished at a reasonable time. Unfortunately they were not serving meals the day I arrived but breakfast the next morning provided several options all cooked and served by a very friendly and helpful fellow. I would stay here again and highly recommend The Railway to other travelers.

The pub is excellently situated for all the town facilities. The room was basic but very clean and perfect for a one night stay. The pub itself is very nice and the evening menu wide and varied. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the breakfast first class.
