Honestly, this was a very disappointing experience, and I find it hard to believe this hotel operates under Horison’s standards. Check-in & Superior Room: The welcome wasn’t particularly hospitable, and my Superior room wasn’t even ready when I arrived. The building was still under construction, so it was dusty and smelled of construction materials. Even worse, several cockroaches came crawling out of the bathroom sink! 😭 There was also no Wi-Fi in the room. After complaining, I was upgraded to a Deluxe villa-style room. Deluxe Room: The room was spacious, but the cupboard was heavily mouldy, the furniture was old, the TV was broken, and the air conditioner was far too small for the room. It remained unbearably hot, even at night. I even found another cockroach in the bathroom! What made the experience worse was that the staff seemed to suspect me of breaking the TV. Fortunately, I had photos proving that the TV was already broken. I only turned it on the following morning, discovered an error on the screen, and switched it off again. Shouldn’t the hotel check the room’s facilities after the previous guest checks out? I understand that staff may need clarification, but guests shouldn’t have to feel blamed for existing problems. The location is also inconvenient, being far from both Salatiga and Ungaran–Semarang. The surroundings were dry, dusty, and rather neglected. The swimming pool water was clean, though the surrounding area could use better maintenance. I eventually checked out early and forfeited the remaining nights because I couldn’t stand the heat in the room any longer. Interestingly, I actually visited this resort about five years ago during the rainy season, and I remember it being beautiful, green, and peaceful. The natural setting has potential, but the current condition of the rooms and facilities seriously undermines the experience. My recommendation: Visit during the rainy season if you want to enjoy the greener scenery, but be prepared for a disappointing stay unless the hotel improves its cleanliness, maintenance, air conditioning, and hospitality and internet connection (wifi).
