Stayed over for a day halfway mid route on our trip. Drove, however hotel does have parking, but extremely limited spaces (about 8) and you still have to pay. Zero chance for us at 3pm so went to park at the nearest one a min away. Didn't realise hotel offers small discount than the regular car park price so it was too late until I saw a sign at reception. Location was ok, but the town centre shopping area is to be desired 😅 Check in was super fast. I booked a supposedly king standard room. Hotel was very quiet which was great after a long drive. The bed was a regular double size, however holiday inn call it a king for whatever reason........... Room was relatively spacious for suitcases and was very clean including bathroom. The only drawback was it could have done with a mini fridge. As pointed out on other posts, the shower design is flawed due to it having a front facing shower head and half glass screen. Floor got a bit wet, but only cause I angled it closer to the wall. The sink was far too powerful for the sink design and it went everywhere and the sink counter just creates a waterfall to the floor. The restaurant should accommodate for young families, like having a microwave and hot water dispenser. Nightmare when you just need to heat something up. These I hope will just be positive feedback as we had a decent stay overall with no other issues. Shout out to duty manager Luke as he was polite and friendly.

Cheapest and most decent hotel for its location. Can’t really complain because you are paying for what it’s worth.

I have been staying here regularly most days for 4 weeks business. For the price the service is good.Rooms clean. Staff helpful. Breakfast can get busy. Minor quibble that only one of two lifts working. Otherwise good location for train station.
