This hotel is not as expected as it's a bit impersonal - more like a busy Spanish hotel. The swimming pool is disappointing as ,not free and too busy with scheduled time. But the staff is very nice and do their best to accommodate you. The rooms are nice and the view too. The surrounding and Folkstone is very pleasant. The meal room looks good. The hotel is a bit old fashion particularly the corridors but the rooms are nice. I would go back though it was not what I expected. I had expected somewhere a bit more luxurious. But it was good enough once the initial shock when arriving as a bit more old fashion as expected. But I quite like that style. Thank to the staff for their friendliness and kindness and hard work.

busy but nice

Little gem
Been coming here for years. Good location for the sea and a relaxing break. Entertainment for all of the family, but a shame that going in the swimming pool costs extra. Premier rooms have been upgraded and lovely decorated.

Good location, nice view but wifi is not free and storage is full
The room is with a nice view (sea view room) There is a hair dryer, iron, and kettle in the room. Hot water stopped working after it was turned on for a certain time. Wifi is not accessible in the room. Only in a communal area. Room service needs to be booked in advance and check out time is very early. There are many rooms in the hotel, but there is insufficient space for luggage storage for the guests. However, the hotel is good in overall.

Pros: - Excellent location adjacent to Folkestone Harbour - Convenient on-site parking available at £5 per day, payable at check-in - Roomy accommodations featuring a hairdryer, iron, fan, kettle, and comfortable seating - Impeccably clean bedding - Diverse range of in-house entertainment and amenities, albeit at an additional cost Cons: - Decor appears dated, could benefit from modernisation - Notable dust and mould presence in window areas and on ironing equipment - Free Wi-Fi restricted to ground floor; in-room access incurs a £7 daily fee - Breakfast options are somewhat restricted

Excellent location, hotel a bit stuck in the past, but good overall
The Grand Burstin has been undergoing renovations for quite a while and is starting to look better after carpets replaced and the front of the hotel repainted (a huge job!). Keep in mind that it's frequented mainly by older people and the vibe is like something out of the 1970s or 80s. If you don't mind this, it's a fantastic location in Folkestone,
