Probably the best budget hotel I have ever stayed in. Though I paid <1k for a non-ac double bedroom, the room, bathroom, balcony and corridors were decently clean enough for basic use. Not very spacious but manageable.

Very disappointing experience – misleading photos and extremely poor service I booked Hotel Residency Salem through Agoda based on the photos and description shown in the listing. Unfortunately, the actual experience was completely different. The room and overall cleanliness were far below what was shown in the advertisement, and the photos felt highly misleading. The biggest issue happened during the night when there was a prolonged power cut. We were left without electricity for almost 3 hours, with no proper information about when the power would return. The generator was not operated, and there was very poor response from the staff. When I raised the issue, instead of helping, two staff members behaved extremely rudely and aggressively. They even came towards me in an intimidating manner when I questioned the situation. I was told that nobody else had a problem and that I was the only one complaining, which was completely unacceptable. Overall, the service, staff behaviour, cleanliness and actual room condition did not match the standards suggested by the Agoda listing. The photos shown in the advertisement are highly misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the property. I strongly recommend that guests check recent reviews carefully before booking. This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had, and I would not recommend this property.
