Gau Shan Ching Hotel

We planned a 3 day visit to Alishan and stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel served its purpose. We knew it would not be a 5-star western style hotel, so we felt the challenges were fair for the price. Overall, the location was exactly what we expected and needed for two, able-bodied, fit, young people in their 30s to enjoy the whole park. There were a lot of stairs to climb up and down. It was tiring but that is also the Alishan and mountain experience. (We loved our 3-day visit!) Breakfast tickets were included to a nearby Taiwanese breakfast buffet. It was awesome. Heat is only turned on overnight if the temperature drops below 8C. So it may be cold if we were there during the day time. Hot water is turned on from 4PM to 8AM, so we planned around that. Extra blankets and pillows cost extra, so we didn't ask for them and it was fine. The bath tub / shower was unfamiliar for a white American but they did fine. It didn't have a curtain or wall, and the whole bathroom is a wet room, totally okay -- they just didn't expect it. I was reasonably comfortable as a Taiwanese American tourist. Each floor had a shared hot/cold water machine near the elevator. Two nights here was the perfect amount to see and do everything we wanted to! The village around this "hotel district" had lots of food options, souvenir shops, convenience stores, and the train station to catch the first train to see the sunrise. We enjoyed our visit to Alishan SO MUCH. It was my partner's highlight of their entire 2-week trip to Taiwan. The hotel was what we expected for the price, and the unexpected things weren't unreasonable or a hurdle to having a great time in Alishan. We would stay here again. If we brought our older parents (65+ years old), we would probably treat them to a warmer place in the winter months.

まず、日本円で一万数千円のホテルではありません。お部屋はそこまで汚くはありませんが、前泊者の濡れたタオルがバスルームの片隅に残っていたり、掃除が行き届いていなかったり…潔癖症の方にはつらいかもしれません。 でもチェックインカウンターのおばちゃんは気さくで英語も通じますし、アクセスも良いので阿里山という一大観光地に一人旅で行くのでしたらアリなのではないでしょうか? 過大な期待は厳禁です!

The location is good, within a 5 to 10-minute walking distance to the train station. However, the building is old, and the amenities are basic. Upon arrival, they were painting the walkway wall, resulting in a persistent paint smell throughout the entire stay. The room is small and quite narrow, with a need for improvement in soundproofing, as conversations and people passing by are easily heard. There's limited time for showers; when we returned from the sunrise, there was no hot water supplyfor shower. Breakfast options were limited; arriving around 8.30am meant most of the food was already gone. Besides the location, the overall experience was just average. I hope the staff becomes more responsive to Agoda messages, as they often don't reply, possibly due to a lack of manpower. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate it 5.5.

設施很舊，假期時間人很多價錢也相對貴

酒店的評價十分兩極，由預訂那刻開始擔心，所以決定住宿完一定要留下自己的評價。 酒店價格不算便宜，但在園區裡已相對低。 房間有乾淨的床鋪和衛浴，走廊有冷熱水提供。早餐是中式自助餐，豆漿咖啡任飲，在火車站旁的中餐館用餐。員工很樂於回答問題，還教我們從後門走去火車站比較快。 同時有些地方要注意。浴室的邊邊角落有發霉以及沒有乾濕分離。提供即棄的洗浴用品但是拖鞋是一般膠拖。木地板有缺角，水壺開關是斷的，沒有行李架。以及morning call是預設看日出的時間，不需要的話要打電話去櫃檯取消。房間隔音幾乎沒有，會聽到走廊談話聲。 總括來說，就是看你能不能接受囉。飯店最大的優點是在園區裡面很方便。意在遊園，對住宿要求不高的真的可以一試！最後，在山上被樹林包圍的感覺真的很捧！
