Teralba Lakeside Caravan Park

We stayed here while attending the Koori Knockout and unfortunately the experience was absolutely disgusting. Check-in was meant to be at 2pm. We arrived at 1:40pm and were told to come back at 2:30pm. When we returned, we were handed pillows at reception and given our room. When we walked in, the previous guests’ dirty sheets and towels were still all over the beds. The room clearly had not been cleaned or prepared for us. After complaining, we were moved to another room. The kids’ beds weren’t made and the room had a horrible dusty/mouldy smell that gave me a massive headache. The man who checked us in was running around the grounds finding sheets, blankets and towels for me so I could make the kids’ beds myself. The kids were really looking forward to using the pool, especially after a long road trip on a 31-degree day. We were initially told they couldn’t swim because chlorine had just been added and to come back at 4pm. At 4pm, the kids asked again and were told the pool would not be opened. There were another two families also waiting to use it. When I asked why, I was told a stick had fallen into the pool and made the water cloudy, although the pool did not appear cloudy. I explained that one of the main reasons I booked this accommodation was because it had a pool, especially as most other places were sold out because of the Koori Knockout. His response was, “Well, that’s not my problem.” After I told him that it absolutely was a problem, he eventually opened the pool. Once the kids were finally allowed in, the condition of the pool was also disappointing. There were lots of bugs in the water and even lollies sitting on the bottom of the pool that the kids were picking up while swimming. For the price of accommodation, you expect the room to at least be cleaned, the beds made, towels provided and advertised facilities to be clean and available. Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. We definitely will not be staying here again and would not recommend it based on our experience.
