A Charming Stay in the Swallow Cottage – Full of Warmth and Beauty
The CHELIDONI COTTAGE I stayed in is named after the swallow ("chelidoni" in Greek), as swallows build their nests under its eaves. When I visited, I was lucky enough to witness a parent bird feeding its chicks! It was incredibly charming and touching—just that moment alone made my stay unforgettable. But what truly impressed me was the cottage’s lovely interior. The retro decor evokes the atmosphere of traditional Cypriot life: a vintage green fireplace, a kitchen adorned with delicate lace decorations... In the kitchen, there was a welcome drink set waiting for me. It was also fully equipped with dishes, pots, and pans, making it perfectly suited for self-catering. Upstairs, there's a balcony where you can enjoy tea at the table while admiring the mountains surrounding Omodos. The bathroom was also very clean, and I had absolutely no problems with it. I had dinner at the restaurant run by the hotel. The traditional Cypriot dishes were plentiful and absolutely delicious—more than satisfying. All the staff members were kind and accommodating, even understanding my poor English. I am truly grateful for their hospitality. My stay was so wonderful that I wished I could have stayed longer. It was truly an excellent hotel and restaurant that I would love to visit again. (I sincerely apologize for forgetting to return the key. I asked the taxi driver to bring it back—has it been returned properly? Please let me know if there are any issues.)
