Great rest stop just off the highway
I recently stayed at Palm Resort in Kampaeng Saen, located on the outskirts of Bangkok, for 4 days with two friends. It was a pleasant experience of the local Thai agricultural countryside! We chose this place because it was near Kasetsart University where we attended meetings. The resort is located along a highway. It makes a good stopover for a night or two to break a long road journey. The locals use this place. It is a simple, serene atmosphere, perfect for unwinding and escaping the busy city life. The lush greenery and well-maintained grounds create a peaceful environment. Each resort room is semi-detached to another, separated by a roofed shelter that doubles as an open garage. They are in rows, painted in pastels and delightful colors of the rainbow. Each room is furnished simply - 2 single beds with thick hard mattresses; small wardrobe; small bar fridge. Basic toilet with an electric hot shower and gel dispenser on the wall. An extra thin floor mattress cost 200THB per day. The staff were friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist. They made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. There is no food in this place. During our stay, we used Grab Delivery. Kampaeng Saen is two and a half hours away from Bangkok City. Overall, Palm Resort Kampaeng Saen is a great choice for anyone looking for a simple peaceful no frills retreat outside Bangkok. It is cheap, clean and cozy.
