No hot water, ventilation not good

The pool was well chlorinated. In fact it is a little on the heavy side. Which makes the pool so clear you can see your feet. The staff was amazing and accommodated my request as much as possible. And they did it with a smile. I only had 2 issues. The internet was down the whole time I stayed and could not use my chromecast. And the hot water was turned off late night and early morning. Other than that it was a pleasant stay overall. Had to lower my score for facilities because of those 2 issues. It's hard to take a bath with ice cold water and nowadays internet is very basic. But I'm sure internet is not an issue most of the time. I just happen to stay when they were having issues I guess. They did have routers located outside the room. Just did not have internet access that time.

The staff are very accommodating. The room is quite big and clean however there are no garbage bin in the room which is the most important. Overall rating is 4/5 :)

This was a perfect location for us as it was a walking distance to Tacloban Astrodome. Room size was good enough for a family. There is a swimming pool which is very rare for budget hotels in Tacloban. Staffs were polite and helpful. Restaurant also serves affordable meals

As a frequent traveler, I rely heavily on a stable and fast WiFi connection, especially when staying at hotels for my connectivity. Unfortunately, my recent experience at Basic Hotel left much to be desired in terms of internet connectivity. From the moment of check-in, it was evident that the WiFi was not up to par. Despite the hotel's promises of high-speed internet access, the reality was quite the opposite. Throughout my stay, I encountered consistent lag, buffering, and dropped connections, making it nearly impossible to complete essential tasks or even enjoy leisurely browsing. The staff did not attempt to troubleshoot the their wifi connectivity. They did not apologetic or offer any alternative solution on this. This subpar WiFi experience significantly impacted my overall stay. Simple tasks such as checking emails and watching tutorials became arduous chores, leading to frustration and wasted time. Moreover, the lack of reliable internet access hindered my ability to fully enjoy the amenities and services the hotel had to offer. In an era where connectivity is paramount, a reliable and fast WiFi connection should be a standard offering for any reputable hotel. Regrettably, BASIC HOTEL fell short in this regard, ultimately detracting from what could have otherwise been a pleasant stay. For travelers reliant on internet access, I would caution against booking a stay at this establishment until they address and improve their WiFi infrastructure.
