Papa's Garden - Homestay Ha Giang

We had a wonderful stay at Papa’s Garden with my 7-year-old son. Everything was clean, comfortable and well looked after. The included breakfast was delicious, with a different Vietnamese speciality prepared each morning — and the freshly ground coffee was the best! Papa and Mama were incredibly warm and welcoming. Communication was easy, either through their daughter, who speaks perfect English and can help arrange anything you need, or simply with translation apps. We even had some lovely conversations that way. Another thing that really impressed us was their huge outdoor kitchen. It’s a proper professional setup and absolutely immaculate — you can tell they take great pride in their cooking and hospitality. One of the highlights was when they invited my son to play with their grandchildren. The kids had so much fun together, and we all enjoyed a lovely family dinner while they played throughout the evening. It made the stay feel very personal and special. The location was one of our favourite things. We much preferred being outside the town centre, surrounded by beautiful villages and scenery, with traditional wooden houses and palm roofs. We enjoyed taking the bicycles around the area, and the nearby waterfall is absolutely worth spending an afternoon at. A really lovely place, especially if you’re travelling with children. We would happily stay here again!
