We traveled from Tambaram, Chennai, for a trip to Ooty. Thinking it would be wonderful to make the mountain ascent at dawn, we searched online for accommodation in Mettupalayam to stay overnight before heading up. We chose this place because the rates were very reasonable and it looked promising. The rooms were spotless, featuring soft mattresses and clean linens; the bathrooms were also very clean. There was a small seating area outside the room; sitting there offered such a blissful, breezy experience—complemented by a beautiful view of the Nilgiri hills—that it was truly delightful. A minor downside was the lack of an on-site restaurant; however, a staff member was available to take our preferences and fetch food from the best local eateries. Swiggy and Zomato services were also available. We asked if tea was available in the morning, and within ten minutes, they brought us hot tea and hot *medu vadas*—it was excellent. Of course, we were charged for it all 😏, but we were happy to pay. I would certainly consider this an excellent place to stay with family.
