Beautiful room and hotel with exceptional food and views. Our suite got a "wow" when we first saw it. The bed was extremely comfortable. But the hot tub was bad-- the water didn't get hot enough and there was little pressure so we had to use the electric tea kettle to bring the bath to an acceptable temperature. The toilet has only a curtain separating it from the main room space. The staff was excellent beyond the room, but didn't really fix the bath desire that we reported the issue on the first night. Also breakfast was excellent but the restaurant ran out of prawns on the evening we tried to dine there, and the chef, whom we had spoken to the day before and promised us local Krabi seafood specially prepared, was not on shift and there was no fulfillment of the meal he had mentioned he would see after. Not sure what happened there. Either way, it was a gorgeous hotel but only an adequate experience.

It’s modern and clean and the rooms have a great view. The staff could not be more lovely and helpful. Not so sure about the swimming pool and sitting area but doesn’t matter really as the beach is 10 mins down the road. We would stay again

Stunning pool and view, comfortable sunloungers. Breakfast was made to order with lots of choice and excellent quality. Massive comfortable bed & pillows, no bedside tables but a shelf at the back of the bed. Excellent storage space. Good size balcony. Bathroom is very dark and water needed to be hotter. Fixtures like the tap need maintenance. Some towels need to be replaced. TV did not work due to signal for our whole stay, but we were given access to Netflix. Location is south of the island and a little remote but very peaceful. We were unable to get an extra key for the room due to hotel policy.

I stayed here on an online recommendation and when I first arrived it felt like paradise. I stayed for 8 nights and it was potentially a bit long as there isn’t much to do within the hotel itself aside from the pool and gym. Pros: Strong aircon Clean Safe Huge bed Great views Good selection for breakfast Cons: You’ll rely on tuk tuks or a moped if you want to go out and about (beyond the immediate nearby restaurants) Charged 3 x the local price for a 12 minute drive, which was a con. However there are lots of local drivers just down the road. Overall it’s a beautiful spot with fantastic views and I’d definitely recommend staying for a couple of nights.

The houben is set slightly up the hill from a very pleasant village which is pretty the Why Not Bar down on the beach has a lovely setting and the nightly fire show is very good. On arrival at the Houben there are 2 flights of stairs to a small reception area followed by another 2 flights to the small restaurant breakfast area and pool. There are 4 more flights to the upper rooms, these rooms do have a good view of the treetops and sea as they are so high up. The staff are very nice and helpful throughout, and the rooms are cleaned well everyday with nice facilities. There was no mention of any other facilities other than the red pool which is clean and quite lovely although the area surrounding the pool is unattractive and could do with some more loungers or seating
