We have been backpacking in Thailand for 3 weeks and this has been our best accomodation experience so far. We landed in Koh Mook in late October, after spending a few days in Koh Tao and Koh Lipe. Mookies Bungalows scores top in cost benefit. We initially planned for 2 nights, but ended up staying longer. We rented a fan bungalow, which was very clean, spaceous and cosy. The owner wellcomed us with cold water while she gave us some tipps about what to do in the island. The bungalows are in the quiet side of the island, 5 minutes walking from Charlie beach and 20 minutes walking from the main town. Charlie beach is one of those paradise beaches that is mostly empty of people, except for a little bar/restaurant at the end of it, where we had lunch everyday with stunning views. Morakot Cave (the major natural attraction in the island) is just 2km away on boat/kayak from this beach. The landlaidy from Mookies Bungalows owns some kayaks that are on Charlie beach. We rented one for half a day (250 Baht) and visited the cave early in the morning before scores of tourists started getting there on boats. It took us 20 minutes to get there on kayak. Food at Mookies bungalows is good, and the land lady can arrange you a trip on boat, schooter or trycicle rental, thay massgae, or preety much anything you need in the island. Definitely a good and quiet place to stay.

Loved the time here. Stayed 4 nights over Christmas. Location is fantastic, just a short walk to the beach. Staff were so helpful and lovely. Food was great. Strongly recommend this place

It’s a relaxing place for a few days in the „jungle“ not far from Sunset/Charlie Beach. The newer Bungalow had everything I needed. I can also recommend the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great location near best beach in Koh Mook. We stayed in one of the new bungalows and enjoyed it so much we extended for 2 nights. There are a few restaurants in the area but the hotel restaurant is also nice. Breakfast is simple but well presented (would be nice to get drinking water with the set menu!) Mookies is clean and well kept and the manager is very friendly and helpful :) If you’re considering visiting Koh Mook this is a great area to be in!

The staff here could not have been better and did so much trying to accommodate us . On the Agoda site it states all bungalows have aircon. This is not so. We were able to upgrade for 2 of our nights and that was fantastic. The bamboo bungalow is very basic and I would urge you to ensure you got the more modern bungalow. The food is lovely and the massage amazing. Charlie’s beach is the best beach ever. If you have mobility issues you might not want to pick this place as it’s a bit of a mission to get to the beach after it’s been raining. Amazing place, we would return.
