애슐리 호텔

Our room was in a good location, the staff was nice and the facility was clean. I was a little disappointed with the television reception but other than that very happy overall.

Cosy hotel. Slightly older doors and locks. Front door closed at 11pm and doorman was inside to let you in after that. Very quick to open and get in. No elevator. Room was very clean and tidy. Bathroom very spacious and modern. Only complaint is a mild smell of sewage coming from the bathroom on our second morning. We were on the second floor, not sure of cause as there was no visible source. Unfortunately couldn't say anything to staff as we were in a rush to check out that morning.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Ashley Hotel. Initially I had booked a room elsewhere but needed a room with 2 beds and this was the only “reasonably” priced option in the area I wanted to be. I didn’t have high hopes as the reviews are very mixed, but this turned out to be a good spot for us. Our room was on the top level, which I was nervous about as there is no lift, but the stairs were manageable for us. I could see it being more of an issue if you’re dragging heavy bags or have difficulty with stairs you’d want to contact the hotel directly and request a room on the lower level in advance (there will still be at least one flight regardless). The traditional Irish B&B style room and beds were comfortable enough for our short stay, clean, and the late night porter service was nice for our needs. All of the front desk were friendly and helpful. Bring your own toiletries - they only have handsoap in the rooms. Great location just a short walk to shopping on Merchants Quay, Sine and the Corner House for live music across the street, and 2 minutes walk from Paddywagon Tours for day trips. Cork train station about 10 minutes from the hotel. You leave your room key (a real key not card) at the desk when you go out and they give you a tag to trade when you come back - this is different but easy as there is always someone at the desk. If this had been about 50 euros less it would’ve been a better value for the accommodation, but all in all a decent place.

This hotel is clean and the staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the hotel is dated. I do get the feeling they are trying to renovate, as the bathrooms were very large and were very nice. The rest of the hotel is very small and rather dingy. We had to store our cases in the bathroom, as there was no space in the bedrooms. There is no lift, but the staff did volunteer to take our cases up to the rooms. To the front of the house it can get very noisy, due to the 2 pubs across the road. It was impossible to sleep with an open window. The hotel has a small bar, but it doesn’t get used a lot. The Guiness tasted off. (A mortal sin in Ireland). We ordered with breakfast. This could be improved, by offering more choice. The location is very good, as you are in easy walking distance of everthing.

Just a few walk away from city centre, so definitely is a good location (if you dont mind that it is opposite funeral home 🤪) In terms of facilities, basic amenity is there, but dont expect too much… staff are great and friendly. Room is not soundproof, i can hear people from the other room making out
