The room was nice, comfy bed, clean modern en-suite, nice tea and coffee facilities(inc. Yorkshire tea and Taylors coffee bags). Only issue was the heat but we did stay on a hot day and it was not great having the window open because of the noise and smells from the kitchen extractor. Bed was comfy with good pillows. Would be lovely and cosy on a cooler day! Breakfast was excellent. Great value. We also ate there in the evening and food was good - massive portions, reasonably priced for size and quality

Decent and well priced and great food

Fantastic food and great staff.
I only had one night in the Royal Oak as I was doing the Cleveland Way. Super easy to find in the main village centre. The room was spacious and very well presented with a large comfy bed. As the weather was really hot, I wanted to open the window but keep the curtains drawn to try and cool the room. Aircon isn't something the Brits do very well so the room was stiflingly hot. Good shower though. I am really glad I reserved a table for dinner as when I came down at 8pm the place was heaving. I realised why once the food arrived. This place is amazing! The food going passed to other tables looked great and mine was awesome. such helpful and friendly staff too.

Great location in the heart of the village. Great value room and hearty veggie breakfast. Such lovely staff, as ever.
