OK to Save Money, But in Dire Need of Refurbishment
I wasn't looking for any frills. I don't need a pool, gym, spa, restaurant, or mountain vista; just a place to stop overnight. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the facilities are tired and worn out; they are in dire need of a refurbishment. The main problems in my room were electrical. One light was completely non-functional. I never did figure out what the switch next to the door actually controlled, so you would potentially come into a dark room and be unable to turn on a light. The GFCI outlet next to the sink was flashing red and wouldn't reset, so I couldn't use that outlet. (Fortunately, I didn't need to use the provided hair dryer.) The room has a fridge, TV, microwave, cable box, and a coffee maker, and it seemed like those things took up all the available outlets, so sitting at the desk, there's no place to plug in a laptop to recharge. When I crawled under the desk to unplug the coffee maker to have at least one outlet, the receptacle was pulled out from the wall box with exposed wiring. I was careful when plugging in my laptop charging cable; I think someone before me experienced the same problem. In fact, I think one of the other reviewers must have had my same room, unless they're all like that. The AC unit was loud and of questionable effectiveness. I didn't have a problem hearing outside noise because of the AC unit. The bed was OK but not great. The pillows were tiny; I tried to cover my head when attempting to sleep, but that didn't go to well. There are no safety grab handles for the bathtub/shower. I'm pretty sure this would not meet code in today's world. While I didn't need a fully compliant ADA room, I am 72, so I'm not totally steady when getting out of the shower. The review asked if I would recommend this motel. I said yes, but with strong caveats. If you want fancy, you need to book fancy, but if you can tolerate some perhaps troubling inconveniences, then go for it. A major refurbishment would definitely help this place. For
