Unfortunately, this wasn’t the staycation experience we were expecting. We booked the place through Agoda, but the RM400 security deposit was only mentioned about 3 hours before check-in. We were also told that the check-in procedure would not be provided until the deposit was received. There was no mention of the RM400 security deposit or any additional fees on the Agoda booking page when we made the reservation. The deposit was eventually refunded, but only 21 hours after check-out. The owner was also not particularly friendly, and there were quite a lot of strict rules, which made the stay feel less relaxing. Upon arrival, the house condition was disappointing. There were a lot of dry leaves around the garage, making the exterior look somewhat abandoned. One of the toilets still had urine in the toilet bowl, and the rooms were quite dusty. The bed and pillows were not comfortable, especially as the beds were low divan-style beds. The swimming pool was another disappointment. It was much smaller than it appeared in the Agoda photos. The photos may have been taken using a wide-angle/0.5x camera, making the pool look considerably bigger than it actually is. Another concern was security. The gate could not be properly closed/locked, and no padlock was provided. As a result, the gate had to remain open at night, which gave us an uncomfortable and insecure feeling, especially when staying with family. Overall, I wouldn’t consider this the best choice for a staycation with friends or family. The unexpected security deposit, lack of transparency about additional fees, delayed refund, strict rules, cleanliness issues, uncomfortable beds, small pool and security concerns made the experience less enjoyable than we had hoped. Hopefully, the owner can take this feedback constructively and improve the transparency, cleanliness, security and overall guest experience.
