Pingyao Jiaxin Guesthouse

I had an amazing stay at this guesthouse. The hosts here were really wonderful and helpful folks. We ordered lunch and dinner since it was raining the whole day and warm food on a rainy day really uplifts the mood. Mr Lei and his wife, Haiyan were considerate and treats us really well in terms of giving us direction to the ancient city and pointers up Mianshan. Would highly recommend this guesthouse to others.

The guest house is located outside the old town wall., away from the touristy streets inside old town. It is just a less than 10 mins walk to old city and bus station. The hosts are chatty and helpful. The room is also very clean.

Such a lovely stay here. The host whose name I unfortunately can’t spell in English is so friendly and welcoming, speaks great English and is an amazing cook. The food here is delicious but also very affordable and generous in portion size. Location is excellent and only 5 or so minutes walk to the North Gate of the ancient city. Contrary to what I thought previously, staying outside the ancient city has no downside whatsoever and actually has the advantage of being able to order Didi taxis from the doorstep. Room and all facilities were perfect. Really pleasant courtyard with a small fish pond and swinging bench. Only good things to say, highly recommend!!

As a solo traveller, this was one of the best accommodations I’ve stayed at. The host and her family were incredibly welcoming and helpful, creating a truly homely atmosphere.   The location is excellent — just a short walk to the ancient town and only a 10‑minute Didi ride from Pingyao Railway Station, costing less than 20 RMB.   It’s easy to see why this guesthouse consistently receives positive reviews. My experience here was wonderful, and I will definitely return.   Thank you, Jia Xin Guesthouse, for such a memorable stay.
