Unpleasant experience
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay caused me a lot of unnecessary stress. This was the first accommodation I've booked where I received no check in reminders or instructions beforehand. In all my previous stays, I was sent information about check in procedures, timings, and other important details. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. The location provided through Agoda led me to a property that appeared to be closed, with tape across the entrance and no staff available to assist. I tried calling the number provided, but it only went to voicemail. After a long journey carrying a suitcase and two heavy bags, I was left standing there confused and exhausted. Thankfully, a kind local noticed my situation and helped me find the actual hotel, which was located nearby. I then had to walk there with all my luggage over rough pathways, which made the experience even more frustrating. When I finally arrived, the receptionist who checked me in was not very welcoming. He seemed annoyed and unfriendly, which was disappointing considering the stressful situation I had already been through. They asked for my passport for verification and collected the RM2 sustainability fee, which was fine. My issue was simply the lack of hospitality during check in. On a positive note, the receptionist during my early morning check out was completely different. He was friendly, accommodating, and professional. His attitude made a much better impression. As for the room itself, it was decent and offered reasonable value for the price. It also wasn't as close to the airport as I had expected, although that's partly my responsibility for not researching the location more thoroughly. My main concern is the lack of clear check in instructions. If the address provided leads guests to a property that is no longer operating, there should be clear communication beforehand explaining where guests need to go. A simple message could have saved me a lot of stress and confusion.
