Really friendly, hardworking, and helpful staff. Sadly, however, they seem to becoming fewer and fewer and having to multitask, even cook - not good for guests or them!!

Now this isn't the Ritz but it isnt the Ritz prices either. The room was a very budget friendly hotel with very friendly staff. I likened it to the USA motel equivalent stay next to the motorway with plentiful parking. Had 2 rooms, one with double and other with double and single. The double room was much smaller but enough for couple nights stay. Bed was nice and soft and provided good nights rest. TV worked with one single issue no TV guide in either room. Shower was slippy but warm with good pressure. Had no complaints for room cleanliness. No air-conditioning or fans in room for when its hot so take your own. We were fine without with the window open. We stayed on first floor, there is no lift/elevator so glad it wasnt on a higher floor, however stairs weren't steep and were well lit. Staff couldn't do enough for us and were very pleasant. Did seem a little understaffed which cleaely impacts on the meal options available however there is a pub, sports bar and other takeaways near by. It is close to the A1 north and south bound entrances so great for a stopgap for Beamish or other areas.
