We stayed for 10 Days. Originally I thought that we may have been located maybe at the end of port Douglas and was looking forward to renting bikes to get about. Thala is about 15min drive to the main strip. Staff are by-far is what makes your stay.. !! extremely friendly !! Especially Rose on Front Desk!! One of my main reasons to leave a negative comment is that unless you dine in the time and way then there’s no way to get food. We ate at the restaurants for 4 nights of our stay and its not cheep and the menu doest change at all. One doesn’t always eat rich food and platters so having sandwiches/ pizzas would be great. We actually went to a supermarket to bring home sandwiches . Again please be advised that we are not on the main strip so you need to think ahead . The Cabins are very spacious and very Clean, one only needs to contact reception and within 5 minutes get collected to get to the main area. Thank you to all the Staff!

Wow! From first contact with the lodge, with many questions to follow, the staff were extremely patient and helpful. They made sure we were informed of the ‘lock in’ when the road was closed due to a cycle race on one of the days. They made suggestions about food options when they realised we were going to check in late. They even had a golf cart waiting to help us to our rooms. Being locked in on the one day was just what we needed to recharge as the facilities are phenomenal … walks, look outs, beach, rock pool and larger pool, many comfortable lounge areas and a lovely restaurant with great food. The only thing we didn’t get to do was star gaze . This trip was a busy one but we will definitely be back to just relax and enjoy the surroundings. Thank you Thala. You guys have thought of everything.
