The property is in a beautiful, peaceful location within the Huanglongdong Scenic Area, surrounded by rice fields, a river and the spectacular Zhangjiajie mountains. It feels completely removed from the noise of the city. What made our experience truly special was the hospitality. Xiao Lv Ge, the main property manager, went above and beyond for us. He welcomed us with traditional Chinese tea, personally prepared in the traditional style. He also arranged our park tickets and transportation at very reasonable rates, which saved us a tremendous amount of time and hassle. The entire team was incredibly generous with food. They offered multiple times to cook meals for us and even prepared breakfast for us. We are strict vegans with additional dietary restrictions, so unfortunately we couldn’t eat food prepared in their kitchen, but we genuinely appreciated their kindness and effort. One of the biggest advantages for us was that our unit had its own kitchen and cooking amenities, so we were able to prepare the food we had brought with us. This was extremely convenient and would be particularly valuable for families or travelers with specific dietary requirements. Xiao Tian and Xiao Lu did a fantastic job with housekeeping. Everything was consistently clean and tidy, with comfortable beds, nice bedding and towels. The property itself has tremendous character — a traditional wooden heritage building with vintage furniture and an authentic atmosphere that you simply don’t get from a typical modern hotel. Communication was excellent as well. Xiao Lv Ge was extremely responsive on WeChat. Although he doesn’t speak English, this was never a problem. We used translation apps for our in-person conversations and communication was very smooth. The combination of the beautiful natural setting, unique traditional property and genuinely caring hospitality made this one of our most memorable stays in China. Highly recommended. My family had great stay and experience at this beautiful & scenic property with Huanglong Cave & Zhang Jia Jie mountains. The services provided were also excellent as the property owner ensured all the transportation & entrance tickets arrangements were taken care of to ensure we have the best deal and save time. The property also serve very delicious Hunan dishes. Overall, it was a great stay for our family.

Thank you so much to our driver! Our flight to Zhangjiajie was delayed by 5 hours and we didn't arrive until 2 AM, but he was still there waiting for us. We are so grateful for his patience and amazing service.

All the other reviews are correct in highlighting that this is a unique homestay experience: right in the center of the Yellow Dragon Cave. As the owner of the homestay pointed out to me, this is one of the few places in China where a homestay like this is located in a scenic viewing area. The facility and the property itself has multiple modern furniture accents with elements of Tujia architecture. A very comfortable and modern stay. The owner and staff truly treated me as family and really went out of their way to ensure that I had a comfortable stay as a solo traveler. I enjoyed learning about Tujia culture and trying unique Tujia food for breakfast and lunch. There are certainly not a lack of options for food in the area but I found that it was nice to have a traditional breakfast in the morning. Some things to note: the homestay itself is about a 20 minute drive to the East gate which is a launching point for a lot of Zhangjiajie attractions. If you want ultimate walking convenience, this wouldn't be the best place--but I believe waking up in scenic farmland nature was more than worth it. The owner himself, if he was available, was able to drive me to the East gate in the mornings. He also helped me with booking tickets and advised me on routes to take, which was very appreciated as sometimes the booking process and the route to take through the different sightseeing areas was a little convoluted at times if you don't speak and read Mandarin. You can tell the owner has a lot of pride for Zhangjiajie and the surrounding area as he grew up there and knows a lot of the surrounding community. Also, one night the owner recommended me to watch the "Charming Xiangxi" show, which honestly sounded like a huge tourist trap at first--until you realize that almost 1 in 3 visitors in Zhangjiajie have seen the show. It is something certainly to behold, the production value is almost a cultural phenomenon in itself. Overall, I had a very memorable and unique experience staying here and visiting Zhangjiajie. Would recommend if you are looking for an experience over a typical hotel!

The 民宿 is located right inside one of the sightseeing areas, 黄龙洞, and is less than a 30-minute cab ride from the National Forest Park entrances. It’s a great spot if you want to explore the mountains while staying somewhere quieter and away from the bustle of the city centre. The staffs were helpful and friendly regarding our queries on travel plans and transportation. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall, we had a lovely stay.
