The lotus field homestay has been outstanding. The staff were very accommodating; they contacted me earlier before check in to plan for transportation as well as for our transit back to Hanoi. The homestay is well located for magnificent views and is a 15 min taxi drive to Trang An boat tour. It can be a bit challenging to get back, since not all taxi drivers are keen on driving you back for the last kilometer on the dirt road leading to the homestay. We have walked back on that dirt road and while it can seem intimidating, we made it back after a 20 min walk. Overall we loved out stay and would definitely recommend it for anyone hoping to disconnect a little bit.

Lotus Field is nestled within the Ninh Binh countryside, peacefully isolated from any main streets. It's a wonderful place to stay do consider a few factors. For one, it's located 1.5 KM off any main roads down a rocky, unpaved path which is important to know if you plan on renting bicycles or motor bikes to get anywhere. Returning home at night means a a 6-8 minute ride down a narrow path between rice paddies in the dark. Also, the rooms do not have proper shower but tubs with curtains. As long as you're aware of these factors though, Lotus is a great place to stay and the scenery surrounding the homestay is truly stunning.

Pros: Gorgeous views, tranquility, relaxing, clean room, out in nature, kind staff running the place Cons: A bit too isolated, far from town where all the main attractions are, terrible road to access property, nothing to do in walking distance. Need moped or taxi for everything. Porch furniture not too comfortable, highly recommend property get a pool so guests have something to do I'd recommend staying here for 2 nights max otherwise will be bored.

Love our room. It was spacious and clean. The problem was that there is nothing to do as the hotel is at the end of a rough dirt road. Paid a lots less for a hotel in the same area with a pool and pool table, with an even better room. But if you want to just chill, it may be fine.

Lived the view and quietness from the little cabin. Was a unique experience and loved waking up to it each day. Unfortunately the pool was under renovation. I wish they had told this so that we could set expectations with our small children. They did offer to let us use the pool and the neighbouring hotel but it was a bit too much of a walk for the kids after a day of sightseeing. Staff were really friendly and cabins clean and comfortable.
