Villa Moderne Motel

The place exceeded my expectations for being spotless and beautiful inside. I could not believe how great is was. I am a picky person and this wowed me. Bob Powell Holly, MI

The online photos don't do this place justice. It's way worse in person. "A" for effort to the new owners, but there was too much left undone, some poor choices made, and subpar cleaning. Apparently, the beds in our room were made for "the princess and the pea." Hard as a rock and a mile high. I had a hard time climbing in and I'm 5'9". My mom who is 5'1" had to be boosted up to get in. Also, the bedding smelled like it was from the olden days (as did the bath towels – mildewy). The bathroom sink had no drain cover and there was a CHERRY in the drain. Not sure if it was plastic, or if a previous guest was washing their u-pick haul and one got away. I didn't want to dig it out to find out. There was leftover hair in the bathtub and the towel rack fell off the wall out of the blue. We fixed it as best we could but it fell off again. So we left it, and the towels, where they wanted to be. Possibly trying to make a run for it? The AC unit is so old and loud you get the fresh scent of mildew and the sound of a freight train every time it kicks on. But don't worry, just as your brain turns the sound into white noise so you can sleep, the AC shuts off so you won't miss the police/fire/ambulance, Mac trucks and motorcycles driving by at all hours of the night. Last but not least... the noxious clouds of marihuana smoke billowing from cars in the parking lot. I guess that's to be expected bc these are non-smoking rooms, but with ZERO staff on site (this is an all-digital, no-contact facility) there is nothing to deter it. If you're in a bind and need a place to sleep (maybe) and shower, go for it. But if you have other options, use them.

We were SO pleasantly surprised by how clean and newly remodeled the room was. I don't normally prefer a motel, but the new Villa Moderne, Adoba, exceeded all of our expectations. This is the first time I have ever left a motel feeling rested, clean and so fully satisfied that I WILL RETURN!

Apparently, Leslie tried, but the parent companies wouldn’t let it go through is what she said. So it was just a huge waste of money for me.
