VITS Lonavala

VITS Lonavala is a relatively New Property which was originally known as Sukkur Bhavan and has been recently acquired by VITS and refurbished by them. It is located on the main Old Mumbai-Pune Highway just before the Varsoli Toll Plaza when you are driving from Lonavala to Karla, so you need to take the Karla/Lonavala 2nd Exit when driving on the Expressway from Mumbai, as it is located just off this exit. Google Maps will guide you correctly. The location is good, as even though it is a bit secluded, it is not too far from the main Lonavala Market & ST Stand Area, but you do need to have your own Vehicle if you intend to visit places. It is a Decent 2 Storied Hotel with *** Rooms (including a few Duplex Suites), Ample Parking with Proper Security, a Fairly Large Clean and Well Maintained Swimming Pool with a Demarcated Children’s Pool Area as well, Separate Washrooms for Ladies & Gents next to the Swimming Pool with a Changing Room, Toilet, Shower (with Hot & Cold Water) and a Steam Room as well, a Jacuzzi on the Terrace (which unfortunately is in a Complete State of Disrepair with No Plans to make it Operational), a Poolside Open Air Restaurant, 24x7 Front Desk, a Decent Sized Lawn and 1 Table Tennis Table & 1 Carrom Board in the Restaurant Area. There is however no Gym or Fitness Center. The Hotel is Stylishly Designed, Well Constructed and Very Well Maintained too, which is a Major Plus Point. They have Ample Staff who regularly clean all areas of the Hotel including the Compound, Parking Areas, etc, which is Truly Remarkable for a Hotel of its size. All the Staff are also Well Trained, Courteous and Very Hospitable as well. The Lobby is Very Spacious and Welcoming and despite being a Hotel of just 2 Floors, they even have a Small Elevator, which is very good for Senior Citizens and for carrying your Luggage too. The Rooms are Fairly Large and Very Well Furnished. Every room has a Small Balcony, but it is really too small to sit out and enjoy. There is also a Flat Screen TV with a DTH Set Top Box, an Electric Kettle with supplies, a Mini Fridge, a Wardrobe, a Sofa cum Single Bed, Center Table, Study Table with a Chair, Dressing Table with Mirror, Bed Side Tables and plenty of Electrical Points all over, which is really Very Convenient. The Washrooms are also good with 24x7 Solar Heated Hot Water and Biotique Toiletries. The Quality of the Beds, Furniture, Fittings, Mattresses, Pillows, Duvets and Linen is Excellent and is of a High Standard as Vits is generally known for, making your stay a Very Comfortable one. The Breakfast Spread is good and all items are well prepared and tasty. We were there to bring in the New Year and they had a Gala New Year’s Eve Dinner and Brunch on the 1st of Jan which we attended and found the Spread to be Very Good, the Food Freshly Prepared & Tasty and the Service to be Very Good too. Truly a Very Good Hotel to stay at in Lonavala and Quite Reasonably Priced as well, so Highly Recommended.

Had a good stay. Cleanliness and service needs a little improvement. Found AC not working, but repaired. Found lot of dust on sofa cum extra bed. Breakfast could have been better. Tea was good

Previously it was sukkar bhavan & still name visible, so they need to maintain the vits standard as floor is dirty means thoroughly clean as dark patches clearly visible. Apart need to maintain other facilities of hotels. But at such price still ok.

Rooms were big and clean. Staff was polite. Food was tasty however with limited options (may be due to gas issues). Only issue was with Agoda booking as I always book for 2 adults and 1 child, but it was booked for 2 adults only. When you travel excitedly to enjoy vacation, and on entering premises, you face such issues - it makes the start very uncomfortable.

Overall experience was good. Very good complimentary breakfast. Swimming pool is nice, food which we take in meal was also nice. nearby to highway. Location is little outside the market. No much exposure to roam inside the hotel premises so overall it is good for stay here if you plan is just 1 or 2 night stay
