This was my second stay at Hotel Panorama within a fortnight, and I was pleasantly surprised to be recognised by the front desk staff. It’s always nice when a hotel remembers returning guests, and the check-in experience felt much more welcoming this time. The desk clerk was also far more visible and approachable, spending less time hidden behind the two large monitors that I commented on during my previous stay. The hotel continues to offer clean, comfortable rooms and I particularly appreciate the complimentary snacks and drinks provided. As a solo traveller, having two hot chocolates along with the Tim Tams and chips is a nice touch and something I genuinely look forward to when staying here. My biggest frustration remains the $200 pre-authorisation charge. For a room with no minibar or items available for purchase, it feels excessive. No other hotel I’ve stayed at in Australia has held this much, with most either holding $100 or simply keeping a card on file and charging only if required. Two days after checkout, the funds are still yet to be returned. Hotels are quick to take the money but far slower to release it, and this may ultimately become the reason I stop booking here despite otherwise enjoying the property. I also chose not to order room service this visit. The $8 room service fee still feels unreasonable for food being delivered within the same hotel. Instead, I ordered Uber Eats, which arrived hot, had free delivery, and was cheaper than ordering from the hotel menu. Hotel Panorama has a lot going for it, including friendly staff, clean rooms, and thoughtful inclusions, but some of its charges continue to make little sense from a guest perspective.

A gorgeous new build, very modern design and friendly staff. Super clean and great location. Soooo popular that car parking is a MAJOR issue especially at night when rooftop bar open. Maybe reserved spots for hotel guests? And super loud music not so good for getting kids to sleep so if young ones in tow ask to be closer to ground floor.

Very clean hotel. Good amenities. Nice rooms. Comfy beds. We love that it has a purified water and ice cube station on the floors.

My pick would be: Great Hotel, But the Fees and Communication Let It Down Hotel Panorama has a lot going for it, but there were several aspects of the stay that made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Arriving by car was a little confusing, as I couldn’t find any clear signage directing guests to reception and wasn’t even sure I had entered from the correct side of the property. Check-in itself was straightforward, although the front desk experience felt awkward. The staff member sat behind two large monitors and made little effort to indicate where he would be speaking from or what he was doing. I was also surprised by the $200 pre-authorisation placed on my card. While I understand hotels may hold funds for incidentals, this was the largest hold I’ve encountered in Australia, particularly for a room without a minibar. I was told it was for room charges and incidentals, yet when I ordered room service later that evening, I was required to pay for the meal separately rather than charge it to the room. The room service experience summed up much of what frustrated me about the stay. The ordering app displayed the wrong room number, forcing me to leave a note to ensure the food was delivered correctly. To add to that, there was an $8 room service fee simply to have food delivered within the hotel I’d already paid to stay in. The chicken schnitzel was enjoyable, delivery was quick, and I appreciated the doorbell rather than someone repeatedly knocking on the door, but the extra charges made it difficult to see value in ordering again. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the hotel facilities were impressive. However, the lighting controls were confusing and the smart TV would not allow me to access Netflix. Overall, Hotel Panorama has plenty of potential, but the combination of extra charges, confusing systems, and limited communication detracted from what could have been a much better experience.

Loved every minute of the stay here! Dont be fooled by the google reviews as the noisiness that customers are referring to are from the restaurants and lobby bar which are part of the hotel. I had no noise in my room and everything was neat, clean and tidy with exceptional service from the staff. Thank you for having me!
