My friend and I stayed at Phu Vara Villa for two nights and it was a wonderful experience. Both Lek and her husband were very hospitable and accommodating. We didn't have transportation and they dropped/picked us up from dinner at Yatika (5 mins drive but a 20 mins walk) on our first night. They also arranged for a driver to do a day tour. Accommodation was clean, modern and comfortable and the breakfast (which changed every morning) was of really good quality. And the view of the third tallest mountain in Thailand was absolutely stunning. Phu Vara Villa is in a quiet, beautiful village filled with nature where the locals are friendly and smile at you. I enjoyed cycling around and exploring the nearby forest and river. What's more, Lek's husband dropped us off to our next accommodation in the town centre. After a couple of days, I wanted to return to this area but struggled to find accommodation so I called Lek and asked if she knew of anyone who had a room free (Phu Vara Villa was fully booked). Lek called around for me and suggested Khamapanna Cafe down the road which we had visited on our first day. Both Lek and her husband were so lovely and helpful, they went above and beyond what I expect from a host. I cannot recommend Phu Vara Villa enough.

Family business runs by a lovely couple, very polite, friendly and informative. Room is spacious. Full facility and very clean. Quiet and private environment. Homemade breakfast is superb. Very good for money.

Phu Vara Villa is the perfect place to relax and explore Chiang Dao. If you have your own car, this place is for you. The owners are great people and they welcomed us with great hospitality. The room was spacious, perfectly clean and well equipped. Everything is beautiful and well thought out. The grounds are well maintained and the view...so beautiful! Everyday, we had an incredible breakfast on the terrasse overlooking Doi Chiang Dao. The food was always amazing. We spent 5 days and could have stayed another 5 easily. This place will stay in our highlights of our Thailand trip.

If you are heading north of Chiang Mai, don’t miss out on staying here! The hosts are super attentive, the place is lovingly taking care of and spotless clean. The views are spectacular and the breakfast is unique and delicious. We prolonged our stay as we didn’t want to leave!

I went to Chiang Dao alone and the owners are so kind to me. It seems i was alone in the whole place during my stay. And the owner even cooked me breakfast based on my preference. The view are nice! You can see the mountains around there from the balcony. You supposedly can watch sunset but i was there during rainy season. Overall best experience. Will stay here again if i come to chiang dao again!
