The hotel location is about 15mins walk from subways station. The staff service isn’t not too bad, but compare with my stay in other hotels for my 3 weeks stay in China, this hotel really need improvement on their staff friendliness and warmth while interacting with customers.

There are so many things wrong at this hotel that I do not have any idea where to even begin... First of, the location. The hotel is situated quite far from the nearest subway station. The nearest subway station, The Bell Tower station is 2 bus stops away, or a good 10 minute walk, not ideal if it is raining or snowing, there is hardly any shelter along the way. The immediate surroundings are residential areas which are quite rundown, to be honest. There is also a lack of amenities around the vicinity. There are a couple of provision shops scattered around, as well as a couple of eateries providing cooked noodles or dumplings. The nearest mall is located above the Bell Tower subway station. The room temperature cannot be controlled. It was set at a pretty high temperature that had me perspiring profusely most nights when I was there. The window could only be opened a very small gap and the AC was not working. Apparently, according to the staff, the AC is centrally controlled, so I have idea why there is a thermostat switch in the room. When I brought this issue up to the front desk, I was told to go and pick up a fan at the counter because the poor girl was all alone working and could not leave her post. Such a big hotel and only 1 person working! Really? The fan provided was old, cranky and whirred loudly all through the night, seriously affecting my sleep. Also, the heat attracted a lot of mosquitoes that harassed me throughout the night, forcing me to sleep completely under the covers in an already very hot room. While the breakfast hosted a pretty good spread of eggs, bacon, noodles, juices and fruits, etc. If any of the items run out, the staff does not replenish the item. One morning I went to breakfast at 0900hrs and there was already hardly any juice left, when I asked one of the staff on duty, she just shrugged her shoulders and the item was left unreplenished. The one peeve that really got to me while I was staying there, was that the clock tower in the neighbouring Municipal Council office sounds off an alarm every hour daily, between 0600hrs till 2200hrs. I spent an entire week there and every time I tried to do some work on the days where I did not need to pop into the office, the alarm was driving me mad. The alarm goes on for a good 12-15 seconds and is loud enough to wake me in the morning, way before my alarm clock goes off, and also loud and annoying enough to distract me from what I was working on. While I acknowledge that this is not the fault of the hotel management, but clearly, it wasn't a good idea to build your hotel right next to the Town Council office. The one good thing that I can give points to for this hotel is that the laundry facilities are open 24hrs with detergent provided. However, the cons outweigh the pros by a long margin and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, whether as a family on vacation or a solo business traveller.

The room was super comfy, with smart design. Nothing fancy but everything was enough for a pleasant stay. The hotel even offered hot soup at night. It was rainy and cold outside when I stayed there. When I came back to the hotel and had some soup, it was such a great feeling. The hotel locates about 15 minute walking from the nearest metro station, which is acceptable.
