The landlady is absolutely lovely, and this is such a cozy place to stay! Free bread, milk and cereal are provided in the kitchen. It’s a 15-minute walk from the InterCity drop-off point, and about 20 minutes on foot to Pak’nSave. Everything is great here, except the bed linen could do with more sunning – I got bitten by fleas or mites, leaving lots of bumps on my ankles that have since scarred.

Great cozy B&B in Invercargill
We had a good stay at Southern Comfort in Invercargill. It’s a cozy B&B in a nicely decorated house with a beautiful garden in a residential area of Invercargill near Queen’s Park.

Coziest hostel I've ever stayed in
When my bus driver dropped me off, he said Southern Comfort is the best place in town. I think he's right! This place is extremely cozy, and the vibe is just great. The owner and caretaker are very kind and attentive. There's free breakfast included, and if you need to do laundry, that's free as well. The hostel is not loacted in the heart of Invercargill, but but the place itself makes up for it and Queen's park is super close by. You won't regret staying here :-)
