I recently stayed at this Premier Inn hotel and unfortunately had a very mixed experience. Reception & Staff: When we arrived late at night, the receptionist was unfriendly and unhelpful. She asked us for additional money and even said she “didn’t know what to do with us.” At one point, she insinuated that we might not be able to stay at the hotel, which was very stressful given the late hour. The reception area itself looked outdated and untidy, and there was an unpleasant smell upon entering. This immediately created a negative first impression. We were also charged extra for basic items like toothpaste and a toothbrush, which felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. Room & Bathroom: On a positive note, the hotel room was clean and tidy. The bathroom was also clean and in good condition. Housekeeping in this regard met expectations. However, in the morning, someone knocked on our door before the official check-out time, which was inconvenient and disruptive. Restaurant & Food: Although we were offered breakfast, there was no proper restaurant available. The restaurant next to the hotel looked empty, with no tables or chairs set up, and appeared very sad and outdated. There was no one at the bar. It gave the impression that food service is either not properly operating or poorly managed. Location & Exterior Appearance: The hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful area, which is a plus. However, the outside appearance is very poorly maintained. There were leaves scattered everywhere, cleaning items left outside as if they had been dumped there, and the premises generally looked neglected. It makes you wonder whether management regularly checks the property. The exterior is quite an eyesore upon arrival and may discourage guests from entering. The overall appearance of the outside and restaurant area feels outdated and badly maintained. Overall: While the room itself was clean and the surroundings were quiet, the poor reception service, additional charges, bad smell, and neglected exterior significantly impacted our stay. With better management, improved staff training, and proper maintenance of the premises, this hotel could offer a much better experience. At this time, I cannot confidently recommend staying here.
