The Hosteller Goa, Old Goa

The property was helpful enough to receive a mailed parcel on my behalf and handed it to me upon checkin. Prior communication was great and well organized. The checkin process was a bit too “techy” for some people where you need to upload IDs, check room PIN code, switch on/off the lights, etc. Some cons: Wifi in room 209 was barely working. Found out the router was quite far away near the elevator. Hostel location is nice and peaceful but it’s not exactly walkable to Old Goa despite the relative short distance because the main road does not have proper pedestrian access (you can try but need to be careful). Otherwise plenty of buses passing by to/from Old Goa and the fare is ₹10. Not a lot of eateries near the hostel. There’s one right next to the hostel. Also there are only two pool chairs provided and certain type of guests would just ‘steal’ yours if you leave for a moment to the bathroom, etc. Otherwise I hang out often at the pool area because the wifi was working whereas in the room, you’d feel like cursing for the lack or slow internet access. Hopefully the Hosteller can improve on this.

To visit old Goa, it's the best choice & only hostel, other than this excellent airbnb options are available, it used to be better with a restaurant and last year the standard was better, still there's Star bar nearby and food delivery options, so it's ok

Property situated at old Goa near main church and river front. We have at deluxe room, room was spacious, clean and with all required amenities. Only issue is there was no room service of restaurant just like hostel. This was a different but good experience.

Good hotel - clean, friendly staff Good location Only down side was the loudness of the other customers shouting until 1/1.30am so affected our only nights sleep at the location Pool and views were great The app is super cool and useful to check in and out and control electrics in the room Comfy bed

I've stayed at hostels before, including the Hosteller in Kasol before, but this one blows it out of the park. Here's what good about it. The room I stayed in was really spacious, extremely well kept, and everything's IoT. The tech friendliness of the place made everything, from check in, to ordering food, to checkout so seamless. Secondly, the staff - very friendly, very helpful, never in-your-face, always polite. The kitchen - everything's vegetarian, but the fare is very fresh, filling and delicious. Finally, this doesn't exactly have the buzz of a hostel. I personally think it's a good thing. The folks here were slightly oldder, and wet about their lives with relative quiet. Surprising for a hostel! The minuses now - the location. it's in the middle of nowhere, that there's barely a restaurant or departmental store in sight. I had to go all the way to Panjim, to rent a bike. The busstop, however, is just outside the gate. Would I recommend this? If my business is in and around Panjim, hell, yes!
